Historically, MUA has only offered annual billing. Policyholders have expressed interest in other billing frequencies, but this was not easily done on account of our software being built around an annual cycle.

In spite of this limitation on our end, many policyholders have been paying down their annual invoices in installments. Although this was done with our approval, it was not ideal, as installments and automated installments needed to be set up entirely by the policyholder.

Thanks to the extended efforts of our developers, this has changed. Now, to meet policyholder demand, we have added monthly and quarterly billing to our annual billing option. In addition to this, we have started using a service called Plooto with which we can set up automated withdrawals from clients' bank accounts or credit cards.

If you are interested in switching up your billing frequency and automating your payments, contact your local MUA secretary. All we need from you initially is a valid email address and your billing preference - quarterly or monthly. Some technical skills will be required to navigate Plooto's emailed prompts once the process is initiated, but it is relatively pain free if you have online access to your bank account.

Billing cycle changes only take effect at the time of your annual renewal. The next renewal group will be renewing on January 1st, 2026, so if you belong to this group, the deadline for submitting a billing cycle change would be December 31st. (This is only technically speaking of course. Actual deadline is probably more like mid-December because of Christmas break.)

If you miss this deadline, we can still make the change but it just would not take effect until the following January 1st. And of course, anyone who is not part of the next renewal can still submit a billing cycle change request at any time which would take effect when your district renews.
