A Friendly Reminder About Payment Methods

June 12, 2026

If your are reading this in your email inbox, you can select here for a better viewing experience and here to see past newsletters.

This newsletter is directed primarily at those of you whose policies will be renewing at the end of this month, but contains pertinent information for the rest of you as well.

It has been nine months or so since we rolled out different billing frequency options and automated payments. (Select here for a fuller explanation of these options.) You can sign up for a billing frequency change at any time during the year, but this change will only take effect when your policy renews, which happens annually. So if your policy renewal is coming up at the end of June, now would be the time to get in touch and let us know that you want to make that change.

I'm reminding you now because some folks only think to get in touch after they've received their annual invoice – opening our invoice and thinking "it sure would be nice to split this into smaller payments" is exactly the type of thing that many of us need (being human and all) to jar loose a niggling remembrance that splitting up our annual premium is, in fact, an option.

The problem is: by the time you get your invoice, it is too late for a change to make any difference in how you pay the invoice that you are now holding. We can still make the change, but it will only take effect at next renewal, twelve months away.

The most reliable way to communicate to us that you want to make a change to your billing frequency, is to have your MUA secretary let us know. Some of you have reached out through our contact form here on the website, or by replying to this newsletter email, and your requests slipped through the cracks. Unfortunately, these oversights are often caught after invoices have been sent out – which of course is too late for the change to apply to the current year.

So if you want to make a billing schedule change and sign up for automated payments, please let us know before next year's invoice is in your mailbox. For those of you whose policies renew July 1st: please do this sooner than later. For the rest of you: reach out anytime. —Thank you for your attention to this matter.
